Maximising Opportunity in Site Orientation.

Context is everything.

Observatory Place’s design embraces its proximity to a local park, nearby buzzing cafe culture, transport hubs and workspaces. In short, the site orientation lends itself to a contemporary CBD-style mixed-use development.

Located at 7 Parkes Street Parramatta, the development process included a Design Excellence Competition and significant planning investment to maximise design and social outcomes. As a result, Observatory Place’s stepped design follows the solar path for light and airy residential apartments.

Following the completion of a design excellence competition, Ellerson Property teamed with architects Aleksander Group to create an elegant 24 storey building on the former site of the Lone Star Tavern.

Designed by Tony Caro Design and Aleksandar Projects, the Parkes Street site will feature 173 apartments and a ground floor retail/dining precinct interacting with communal park spaces. Recessed balconies offer views and privacy, whilst the stepped design of the building provides raised terraces that look out onto the green expanse of Jubilee Park.

Three tenancies on the ground floor of Observatory Place give prime retail and commercial exposure and the opportunity to serve both residents and the workforce in the southern gateway to the city.

Ellerson Property has appointed Forward Projects as the builders, and construction is underway on this quality mixed-use development.

Observatory Place will reinvigorate key gateways to Parramatta’s CBD.
